The resulting K_v or C_v if two valves are installed in parallel can be calculated as

K_vt = K_v1 + K_v2          (1)

where

K_vt = resulting K_v

K_v1 = K_v valve 1

K_v2 = K_v valve 2

Control Valves in Series

The resulting K_v or C_v if two valves are installed in series can be calculated as

1 / (K_vt)² =  1 / (K_v1)² + 1 / (K_v2)²           (2)
